ALICIA KEYS AND BONO TEAMED UP FOR AIDS AID12/01/2005Alicia Keys and U2 frontman Bono are recording a duet to raise money for children with AIDS. The stars have teamed up to sing "Don't Give Up (Africa)" in aid of Keep A Child Alive, which helps families infected with AIDS and the HIV virus get vital medicine. R&B star Alicia - a global ambassador for the charity - revealed in a statement: "I love this song. And I love Bono. I really respect what he has done for Africa and how he has used his fame to do good in the world. I hope I can do half as much in my life." She added: "I believe AIDS is the most important issue we face, because how we treat the poor is a reflection of who we are as a people. I urge everyone to recognize the extreme disaster Africa is facing and step up for the Motherland." The charity single - which was first performed by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush in 1986 under the name "So" - will be available exclusively on iTunes starting Tuesday (06.12.05). 2 |
